WE HELP COMMUNITY
Collaborations & Partnerships
Franciscan Community Counseling
In 1995, Dr Judith Ann Schaeffer, PhD. of Franciscan Community Counseling and Kim M. Green met each other and the rest was history. Dr. Schaeffer was one of the first in the mainstream medical profession to see that somatization of trauma was an important component in healing from trauma. She understood we are truly mind, body and spirit. Dr Schaeffer and Kim worked together to start the Trauma Therapy Project, under the auspices of FCC, which was the first of it's kind in the nation. The Trauma Therapy Project provides Counseling, Somatic Trauma Release & Integrative Meridian Therapy to victims of crime including rape, assault, endangerment of a minor through human trafficking, stalking, family members of homicide, hate crimes, military sexual assault and other criminal victimizations.
In the beginning, Kim was the only therapist volunteering her specialized therapies to FCC's clients and educating first responders and loved ones about the impact of trauma on victims. She also taught about vicarious or what is called secondary trauma to the El Paso County Sheriff's Department and Colorado Springs Police Department. Over time and under the supervision of Sharon Compono, LCSW, they were able to receive their first grants to help educate and work with victims of crime and grow the program. The Trauma Therapy Project is still strong and going today at Franciscan Community Counseling. Kim still volunteers her time in building a collaboration and therapeutic partnership between Franciscan Community Counseling and ATIT's Foundation For Growth. She still helps oversee the program under the new direction of LIz Ryan, LCSW, Executive Director. FCC & ATIT-FFG's leadership & innovative approach in providing cutting edge therapies will be able to accomplish some incredible things for the Pikes Peak Community. The collaboration between FCC and ATIT's Foundation For Growth is strong. Each organization shares responsibilities in overseeing FCC's Trauma Therapy Project and ATIT's Foundation for Growth's own programs. Offering education, therapy and resources to the community.
In 2022, ATIT's Foundation For Growth will be doing exciting things with FCC as we grow into a new area in the Trauma Therapy Project. We can't wait for you to see what we have planned!

National MS Society
ATIT's Foundation For Growth, Yoga Studio Satya and KCMJ Radio collaborated with the National MS Society by putting on an educational program to train caregivers of loved ones suffering from MS on how to help palliate pain caused by this debilitating disease. This was only the first of many trainings to follow that we have planned in conjunction with the National MS Society.
One of the participants who came to the training shared, "I almost didn't come tonight because I was in so much pain, but my husband brought me. I came in pain and I left pain free. Thank you so much. This was so beneficial." This woman's husband learned a very impactful technique that can be palliative for those people suffering from extremely painful muscular contractures caused by MS. In five minutes he learned to help his beautiful wife reduce her pain and was grateful to have learned something where he could help her instead of feeling so helpless when she's hurting so badly.
The National MS Society has incredible programs that offer so much to people suffering from Multiple Schlerosis. Please go to their website and see what type of assistance they can offer you and your loved ones with this debilitating disease.

KCMJ Radio
ATIT's Foundation For Growth has collaborated with KCMJ Radio on multiple projects over the years. In the past two years, they have featured the KCMJ Holistic Health Fair where people can come out and get free treatments from practitioners in the community who offer complimentary forms of health care such as bodywork, nutrition, herbalism and other alternatives. This biannual holistic health fair happens twice each year: spring and fall.
During last year's holistic health fair one participant shared, "This was something that I really needed right now in my life. I have been struggling and to come to a place where I feel loved and can heal was incredible for me today. This is such a blessing and a beautiful thing for our community. You have no idea how much I appreciate what is you are doing."
KCMJ's programming meets community needs that are unmet by corporate media. We will explore issues in greater depth and with more respect for diverse perspectives. KCMJ will be extraordinarily inclusive and local. We’ll celebrate the best of our community and strive to improve the rest.
KCMJ is also an industry leader in providing content on holistic health. With the help of ATIT's Foundation For Growth, KCMJ has put more shows on the air in the past few years that bring meditation, relevant topics on holistic health and new information to the community.
KCMJ's Mission:
To inform, engage, entertain and empower the citizens of our community.

Over The Years
Over the years, Kim M. Green Founder of ATIT, has been pleased to collaborate with many nonprofit organizations & profitable businesses in the United States and the Pikes Peak Region in various capacities. ATIT has offered educational programs, sliding scale fee therapies, trainings on vicarious trauma/PTSD, research, in-kind donations as well as worked with many clients from various agencies through the region. ATIT also worked alongside organizations to make holistic therapies legal in the state of Colorado under our health freedom laws. Prior to 2013, herbalism, bodywork , nutritional counseling, essential oils and many other forms of holistic practices were all illegal. With friendships, partnerships and collaborations, ATIT has been at the forefront in making alternatives known within the community. We'd like to express our deepest appreciation to the organizations we've worked with over the years.
