YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE TO GO TO SCHOOL.
WE ACCOMMODATE YOUR LIFE. WE DON'T EXPECT YOU TO ACCOMMODATE OURS!
The most important factor: KNOWING THAT YOU CAN ACHIEVE ANYTHING!!
School Philosophy
It is the hope and aspiration of Advanced Therapy Institute of Touch (ATIT) to provide both professionals & new students with a comprehensive training in the field of alternative bodywork. To us, the students that are trained in our programs hold the future of our society, communities, and our families in their hands. We strive to insure that our students learn and uphold the integrity of the work as well as the integrity of our profession as a whole. More than anything, we strive to meet the individual needs of each and every student and honor their exploration of themselves and others through bodywork.
A Brief Introduction: Welcome to Our School
You will notice that our programs are spread out over a longer period of time than most other certification programs. This is so the student gets the full benefit of integrating the training completely prior to developing their own practice or seeking employment. We feel that part of any training is to embody the work as a practitioner. If the pace is too hectic or rushed, many nuances that are the essence of the work can become lost in the translation. We feel that an easier, slower pace is critical in the development as a bodywork practitioner. To become proficient in touch sensitivity energetically, physically & somatically takes time, patience and practice. By the time you graduate from one of our programs you will be skilled in body release techniques, tactile sensitivity, energetic exploration, touch and tissue unwinding just to name a few. This will in turn allow you to be a truly viable practitioner.
A slower pace also allows for our students to work full time, have personal lives, and families. The way in which our programs are developed allows you to take the time you need and not stop your life in order to fulfill school requirements. We do not believe in total immersion at the cost of other priorities such as your family and personal life. Instead of school becoming your life, our program becomes an addition to what you already do in your daily life. This helps with pressures that stressful time constraints can place on a student. We feel that you retain, learn more and can have a more meaningful experience in a relaxed environment that is as stress free as possible.
The Ideal Bodyworker:
Advanced Therapy Institute of Touch seeks those candidates who have inherent dedication, compassion and a willingness to serve and listen to the people they strive to assist. Those students who are naturally compassionate and have the capacity to dedicate themselves to a lifelong learning process will go far in this profession. The most successful students show passion in helping others, commitment, discipline to task, ability to relate and communicate effectively, strong personal boundaries, ethical integrity, maturity, competence in meeting self-structured goals, and a genuine interest in wellness.
“It Doesn’t Have to Hurt To Heal”
Many forms of bodywork throughout the United States are starting to adopt the philosophy: “It doesn’t have to hurt to heal.” ATIT also believes in this philosophy. All the modalities which ATIT currently utilize and teach are gentle, non-invasive and easy for practitioner and client alike to receive and perform. We are a cutting edge school that is slowly shifting the way people heal and the way practitioners work. If the therapy doesn’t feel right to all those involved, then the therapy is shifted in order to meet the needs of both practitioner and client. In this way, therapy is respectful and conducive to all.
