This module offers the beginning techniques for Integrative Meridian Therapy. This class teaches Shiatsu which is the healing art of Judo martial arts. Students learn 6 of the 12 meridians through hands-on study of theory, assessment, traditional shiatsu techniques, Judo Internal Arts, non-traditional/non-invasive western forms of body positioning, and how to work with the actual organs through visceral manipulation. Basics of anatomy & physiology in connection with Traditional Chinese Medicine are included as well as the nuances of energetic sensitivity in feeling the body’s own natural rhythms and waves. This course will cover 6 of the 12 major meridians with Masanaga's extensions that make this form dynamic. Intertwined with hands-on technique will be interactive exercises that promote self-care and Judo Internal Arts that deepen intuitive understanding of your clients body as well as your own. This module will also cover history, terminology and the anatomy of the Japanese meridian system. A strong emphasis on self-care is also taught. Pre-requisites: None (Part 2 is scheduled for March 2016)
