CLASS NAME:

CORE MODULE IV ~ ESSENTIAL UNDERSTANDING: TRAUMA (24 Clock Hrs)

Remote Recorded Online, Zoom Live Teleclass or In-Person Class ~ Call To Register: 719-231-5715. This can be taken to fulfill CE's.

Specific Course Objective: Students will learn how to recognize and deal effectively with clients who are accidentally triggered through bodywork. Students will also learn to recognize their own triggers.

This class is one of a kind and goes into "Why Trauma Physiologically Causes Disease". Listen to ATIT'S Founder share 30 years of experience of clinical practice and the missing piece most mainstream professionals are missing. You will be enthralled by her discussions and her knowledge of humanities "Incredible Human Design". Learn her cutting-edge theories and gain insights into the reasons why people who have historically experienced trauma suffer from auto-immune diseases, chronic illness and infertility issues. She is truly an expert in her field. You will also learn what to do if you accidentally trigger a hyper-aroused client and be able to bring them back to baseline.

Any form of bodywork can trigger people’s emotional issues. This dynamic class seeks to give hands-on techniques to students which will allow them to deal effectively when this problem arises. The class emphasis is how to work with people who are accidentally triggered in a bodywork session.  Students will learn proper boundaries in working with somatic issues as well as how to recognize cues when a client is triggered. It will also give students the fundamentals of how to talk with clients about being triggered and how to help clients recover from being triggered in as non-invasive a manner as possible. Techniques covered will be breathing, proximity exercises, appropriate communication, energetic/spatial distancing, foot/hand techniques, and a number of other bodywork techniques that work with diminishing the intensity of triggers. Strong emphasis is placed on psychological issues, self-medication through addiction/chemical impairment, PTSD, the central nervous system, neuro-psychology and understanding the neurology of chemical disturbances in the body from traumatic events that create pathological disease processes. The students of this class will learn to recognize their own triggers as well and what to do for themselves. This class is not a replacement for advanced trauma classes, nor will it teach students how to facilitate a Somatic Trauma Release session which resolves trauma at a deeper level.  A strong emphasis on self-care and working through triggers is practiced. Myology is also learned through interactive movement labs (SPM) as a form of self-care.  Pre-requisites: None.

Pre-requisite: Entrance into the Somatic Trauma Release Program or Permission of Instructor. (Permissions are granted to professionals with at least 2 years of professional work experience in a related field. This class does not certify you to facilitate Somatic Trauma Release Sessions.)

"The Doctors told me I would be disabled and unable to work the rest of my life because of Cranial Neuropathy and my mother was injured as well.  IMT rehabilitated my mother and stopped my excruciating pain and disability.  I knew I had to learn it to help others in return. It saved my life!"  T.L.
"It's been wonderful learning at ATIT.  The school keeps up to date on research and cutting edge therapies that you cannot learn anywhere else. The knowledge, genuine caring and intuitive compassion in this school is beyond words." E.P.
Kim & her school are amazing!  She is a wise, thorough and patient teacher, with gentle  and effective techniques and her students are excited to learn and grow.  They come out of school with the skills to really help people! Brenda Feller, MS, PT - 28 years
