Are your victims of violent crime on the edge of serious illness? Do some of them complain of being tired, have auto-immune disorders or mood swings that they can't get to the bottom of? Perhaps your victims' have tried somatization therapies, mindfulness and psychotherapy and they are doing better, but there is a still something not quite right. There is a reason your clients are sick and it's not completely psycho somatic as many believe. There are other factors that are working under the surface that if unaddressed lead to long term disease and a potential future of chronic illness. Come learn why strangulation victims become depressed and how the thyroid is the missing piece. How a pelvis injury from rape and assault can create mood swings that no somatic therapies can touch. How victims who start self-medicating with THC are really dysregulating their endocannabinoid cellular system and creating hippocampus destruction. This workshop is not just about giving you knowledge, but actually giving you an action plan as well as teaching you how to help your clients with certain natural strategies. If your victims' issues are too much for your expertise, this workshop will also talk about how and who to refer to that can address root issues instead of using pharmaceuticals to palliate symptoms.
Kim M. Green founded Advanced Therapy Institute of Touch, a licensed occupational trade school in Colorado Springs, where she teaches the next generation of Somatic Therapists and Advanced Rehabilitative Bodyworkers. She is a pioneer with over 30 years of experience and has worked extensively with victims of violent crime helping over 9000 victims in her career. Long before somatics was accepted in mainstream, she was identifying what worked and what didn't. Neurological Entrainment is an old skill that PT's and Nurses used to use in the 1940's & 1950's until their jobs became too demanding and this technique was all but lost. These special videos will be available to nonprofits that help those with Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, M.S. and much more. Once again for the second year, Kim has been asked to speak on her expertise regarding the Somatization of Trauma at the State COVA/VALE Board Conference in Breckenridge, Colorado.
Conference Speakers Bio:
Kim collaborated with Dr Judith Anne Schaefer of Franciscan Community Counseling (FCC) in 1994 and started the first Somatic Trauma Therapy Program for Crime Victims in the United States. During this time she facilitated 1000's of sessions. In 2004, she launched Advanced Therapy Institute of Touch, a Colorado licensed occupational school where she teaches Somatic Trauma Release (STR) and Integrative Meridian Therapy (IMT). She currently oversees the program she started in 1994 with FCC & is the volunteer program manager for this no fee/sliding scale fee clinic for victims of crime. Both IMT & STR address the behavioral/physiological states created by complex trauma, emotional/physiological fractal patterns, biochemistry of the body & brain, structural/endocrine imbalances that trauma creates and limbic system modulation. She has both lineage training in the internal/healing arts of Judo as well as academic training in bodywork and trauma. Conference Speakers Bio:
Kim collaborated with Dr Judith Anne Schaefer of Franciscan Community Counseling (FCC) in 1994 and started the first Somatic Trauma Therapy Program for Crime Victims in the United States. During this time she facilitated 1000's of sessions. In 2004, she launched Advanced Therapy Institute of Touch, a Colorado licensed occupational school where she teaches Somatic Trauma Release (STR) and Integrative Meridian Therapy (IMT). She currently oversees the program she started in 1994 with FCC & is the volunteer program manager for this no fee/sliding scale fee clinic for victims of crime. Both IMT & STR address the behavioral/physiological states created by complex trauma, emotional/physiological fractal patterns, biochemistry of the body & brain, structural/endocrine imbalances that trauma creates and limbic system modulation. She has both lineage training in the internal/healing arts of Judo as well as academic training in bodywork and trauma. Somatics is not a different style of yoga but rather a therapeutic style of movement, a way of re-educating the way our brain senses and moves the muscles. Soma means mind/body. With every movement your awareness is divided between body sensation and breath. This practice creates greater ease of movement, re-patterns body mapping, and is helping to release trauma held in the entire system of your being. The National MS Society would like to inform you of a Community Partner Program, with support from KCMJ Radio, Advanced Therapy Institute of Touch and ATI's Foundation For Growth. Join these organizations and Kim M. Green, Advanced Bodyworker, as she teaches people with MS and their care partners about Neurological Entrainment. Neurological Entrainment is a form of hands on bodywork that relaxes the central nervous system which can help ease tension, discomfort, stress and pain for people who live with MS. It's easy to give and easy to learn. Care partners will work on their loved ones right in the workshop so you can ask all the questions you might have about how to facilitate it properly. The technique can be done to a person sitting in a chair or lying on their side and there is no special equipment needed besides two pillows, so please bring two pillows!

Somatic Movement Progression Therapy and Somatic Trauma Release works and the case studies show it. Yoga Studio Satya is excited to share therapeutic yoga which has worked for millions of people across the globe for centuries. By combining these modalities in this training, professionals will have more tools at their disposal to help their clients. This dynamic somatic training is the first to happen anywhere in the nation and was developed by Amanda Neufeld and Kim M. Green. The training is to begin on April 29th 2017. For the first time, this training will be made available to all professionals in order to bridge the gap to bring therapists together. This has been the missing link in many therapies historically. Self-Care With Meridians Mini-Retreat
We had a great day at ATIT of self-care working with the meridian system, stimulating delta, theta, beta and alpha brain function, receiving student IMT sessions and playing with restorative yoga through Falcon Yoga Studios. This valuable workshop was held January 9, 2016, 10am-2pm. We hosted this event at our new location and was great to give students the knowledge and power to help themselves feel better and start the New Year off right. A great introduction to the many benefits of Integrative Meridian Therapy. This workshop was DONATION BASED with a SUGGESTED DONATION of $30. We had a great time kicking off the New Year with all how came out, was a wonderful day of embracing self-care and self-love.
