The question "what is the secret to a truly healing massage?" is the kind of query an AI can answer in seconds. It will dutifully list the textbook principles: proper pressure, anatomical knowledge, and a relaxing environment. The response will be predictable, polished, and utterly soulless. Because the real secret isn't a technique you can learn from a manual. It lives in our hands, honed by a lineage-based training that doesn't just teach skills—it transfers a way of seeing and feeling.
This isn't a blog post about how I was born with a "healing touch.". It’s about something more tangible, something that starts with the hands of another human and ends with a connection far deeper than surface-level muscle work.
Over the years I have been gifted lineage based training by over 14 elders with a combined experience of 850 years. I am dedicating these next blogs to sharing about them so you will know how important they have been not only to me, but to thousands of people that they have selflessly helped.
What AI Can't Replicate: The History of My Hands.
My first teacher wasn’t in a sterile classroom. Her name was Rhonda, and her rosy cheeked smile were the first thing I noticed about her. Her hands were the next thing that made me realize I wanted to learn from this woman. They were soft yet strong, and they moved with a kind of ancient certainty. I went to see her for over a year before my training began.
When my training started, for the first six months, she wouldn't let me touch a client. Instead, I learned by watching and receiving, understanding the rhythm and intent behind her movements.
She would tell me stories—not about anatomy, but about the lineage of healers in her family, who helped others to a better place. She taught me that the body wasn't a puzzle of knots and trigger points, but a living, breathing history.
This is lineage.
It's the knowledge passed down from one human to another, not through a search engine or anatomy and physiology books, but through the direct experience of touch.
The Shift from Knowing to Feeling
With Rhonda, my education wasn't a series of formulas. It was an apprenticeship in intuition. AI can process data on what a "tight muscle" is, but it can't tell you why it’s tight. Academic based training can teach you words in a book so you can pass a test.
Neither of these things prepare you to deal with a person whose life has been full of trauma and pain. My lineage training did prepare me and now I teach others the same things.
AI & textbook training doesn't tell you about the recent loss, the chronic stress, or the emotional baggage the body is holding onto. My training taught me to listen beyond the tissue. To listen deeply to the needs of the person first, then to feel the subtle shifts in temperature, the hesitation of a muscle, and the energetic blockages that hold people back from true healing. My training taught me to not only release the tissues, but to help release the trauma as well through connection, support, and by being present for another person as their witness. Then when needed as an accountability partner offering nonjudgmental confrontation.
This is where lineage skills come in. Not the skills people are inherently born with, but the skills that are drawn out of them by a lineage based mentor.
When Rhonda finally told me I was ready to touch a client, I was nervous. But as my hands met the other persons body, the muscle memory kicked in. It wasn't my knowledge, but my lineage guiding me.
A Human Touch for Human Beings
In the age of sterile, automated perfection, we are starved for genuine connection. Students don't come to the school just to learn about massage, acupressure, and advanced bodywork; they come to be seen, heard, and supported in a way that is profoundly human. The stories Rhonda told me, the lessons her grandmother passed on, and the long, silent hours of watching her work—these are the things that infuse my touch with intent that I now pass onto all of my students.
So, when you ask about the secret to a truly healing bodywork session, don't expect a technical explanation. The answer is both simpler and more complex: it's not a secret you can learn overnight. It's a lifetime of learning and a generation of hands that have come before mine, bringing their wisdom to my fingertips. And that's something an AI can never, ever replicate
If you are interested in more than a technical education and truly learning lineage based training regarding functional holistic health, advanced bodywork, energy medicine, acupressure, reflexology, herbalism, nutrition, homeopathy, light therapy, massage, somatics and more. Think about coming to join our Institute and learning how to deeply impact another human being as well as yourself.
